Recently released body camera footage captured the moment police officers rescued "multiple children" and one adult from a fire over the past weekend.

The Madison Police Department in Indiana posted the footage on Monday and said that the incident occurred on Sunday, July 3. "The Madison Police Department responded to a structure fire in the 600 Block of Walnut Street," police said in the Facebook post with the video.

According to police, when officers arrived at the scene, they learned that several individuals were stuck inside an upstairs apartment "and the staircase was engulfed in flames."

As the video begins, several officers with the Madison Police Department can be seen surrounding a window to assist those stuck in the second story.

The video then shows one person jumping from a window above and the officers below are able to successfully catch them. As the video continues, the officers on the ground can be heard yelling for those trapped to jump down into their arms.

After successfully catching two individuals that jumped from the upstairs apartment window, a second angle of the body camera footage is shown with officers and bystanders yelling for the individual to jump as they wait underneath the window with open arms.

One other individual is rescued after jumping from the window and then the video captures a third angle of the incident, where they caught another individual. Throughout the body camera video, officers can be heard yelling for the individuals to jump in order to be safely rescued from the burning building.

"A child inside of the home began breaking out windows, and MPD Officers and Detectives were able to catch each child as they jumped from the windows. One adult female also leapt from the second story window and was caught by Officers," the Madison Police Department said. "MPD Officers also entered the ground level apartments to ensure no one else was trapped inside."

According to the Madison Police Department, two of the officers who assisted in the rescue are "experienced firefighters" and were also able to work on extinguishing the fire until more fire officials arrived.

"The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time," police added.

Newsweek reached out to the Madison Police Department for further comment.

A somewhat similar incident happened earlier this year in Mesa, Arizona, when a Good Samaritan risked his own life to help several children escape from a burning home.

In Maryland, a large fire engulfed the dining hall of a kids' summer camp. Luckily, there, too, weren't any injuries.

But, that wasn't the fate of three children whose mother was arrested after, according to the Paulding County Sheriff's Office, officers were called to the home around 9:30 p.m. after receiving reports that the residence was on fire, and that a woman inside was attempting to stab its occupants.
